Hi, I'm Nabil.
The word “tour” comes from the Latin word tornare, meaning “movement around a central point.” Wasn’t that boring? Well, so are most tour guides. I don’t want to lead you in circles. I want to bring Greater Boston to life.
I've spent the last half decade leading tours through Boston, Cambridge, Lexington & Concord, and Salem, first as a Lead Guide for Intrepid Travel and on the road with Tauck Tours, two of the most respected names in the travel industry. I’ve taken everything I’ve learned and built Boston By Nabil. From eight-year-olds to eighty-year-olds, lifelong history nerds to those who’d rather die than read a historic plaque, I love finding what makes each person curious. I know people around the city, from family businesses in the North End to the characters who bring the Freedom Trail to life.
A tour shouldn't feel like a monologue. I’ve taken dozens of tours where the guide knows a million facts and presents them perfectly. I usually forget the facts by dinner. Those tours never made me feel connected to the places themselves. My tours aren’t lectures. They’re conversations between you, me, and the open-air museum of Greater Boston. Let's get to know each other. We have lots to explore.
(And if we happen to encounter a group of tourists being led in circles by some costumed tour guide, feel free to scoff.)
